Jock Rafferty was elected as the Isle of Wight Councillor for Cowes North in May 2026. He is also a Cowes Town Councillor. Passionate about all things in Cowes and proud to call it home.
Jock has lived and worked in Cowes for 15 years and has served as a Town Councillor since 2018. As Chairman of the Projects Committee, he has been directly involved in delivering improvements across the town focusing on practical results, not just talk.
On the Isle of Wight Council, Jock has been appointed to serve on the following committees:
- Economy, Regeneration, Transport and Infrastructure Committee
- Environment and Community Protection Committee
- Extraordinary Meeting of Full Council
- Full Council
- Harbour Committee
- Policy, Finance and Resources Committee
Since being elected to the Isle of Wight Council, Jock has been working on behalf of his community to tackle the ongoing problems with sewage discharges and secure a fit-for-purpose floating bridge replacement that works reliably long term. Not short-term fixes. Not more money wasted on something that doesn’t deliver.
